The Best Advice About Teams I’ve Ever Written

Understanding the Game of Rugby

Because it is an exciting game, many people at present increasingly love the game. Rugby combines football and soccer in that it is a hard-hitting physical game like football, and a game of speed and movement, like soccer.

When you look at the size and shape of a rugby ball, you will almost think that it is a football. However, rugby balls are larger than a football. Laces no longer come with the modern version of the rugby ball. There are mandatory and options personal equipment that a rugby player need like a mouthpiece, which is mandatory, and a soft-padded head gear, which is optional.

The playing field for a rugby game is called the pitch. This is a large grassy surface which measure 100 meters long and 70 meters wide. On every end of the rugby field are uprights. Behind the uprights is the goals area. The minimum depth of the goal area is 10 meters but it is often 22 meters.

Two teams are represented in the pitch who will play the game. There are fifteen players in all for each team. The packs and the backs makes up a team. The pack players have jerseys with numbers from one to eight. The large, physical players of the team are placed in the pack group. The backs have jersey numbers from nine to fifteen, and made up of the fastest players.

The objective of the game is to score goals which are known as “try.” You can achieve a try by touching the ball down inside your opponent’s end zone. Any player can bring the ball to the goal area and make a score. You earn 5 points if you scored a try. A conversion kick is then awarded to a player who makes a try. Two points are added to the team score if the conversion kick is good.

Another way of scoring is through a drop goal. A drop goal is equivalent to 3 points. The drop goal is made by kicking the ball through the upright of your opponent. The ball has to make contact with the ground before you kick it, to count as a drop goal.

Penalty kicks are also granted on player fouls. A penalty kick is worth three points if it is a good one. Behind the 22 meter line, a player who was fouled takes his penalty kick on the exact spot where the foul was committed.

At present, there are many professional levels of rugby. Like pro football teams in different states, rugby also has teams in different cities. Most popular among the rugby games are those played internationally. What makes up an international team are players from city teams in different countries. These days, most people watch these international events.
